Department of Oral Diagnosis is the first clinic where examinations of patients that come to our clinic are made. Those who came toour clinic with complaints are examined in line before the treatment starts, and if needed, photographs and radiographs are taken and treatment plan is prepared.

For a Good Examination;

Firstly the patient’s medical history and whether or not the person has a systemic disease and other illnesses recovered are learned. Bite-Wing X-ray: Especially used to detect caries between adjacent teeth.

Hand-Wrist Radiology: It is used to determine the bone age of children for whom orthodontic treatment is planned.

Cephalometric X-ray: Especially used in orthodontic treatment planning, shows theupper and lower jaws and teeth relationship with the skull base and other formations.

TMJ X-ray: It is use to detect temporomandibular joint movement and the results of movement.

 

Occlusal X-ray: It is used to determination of the positions of the teeth in the horizontal direction, and the jawbone inspection or examination of salivary glands and ducts.

Tomography: Tomography is the radiographic diagnostic method that allows examination of the desired cross-sectional area by using x-ray. Dental CT image with bone and soft tissue details can not be seen in the panoramic X-rays are easily visible. Giving the physician a three-dimensional image provides a great convenience for the diagnosis.

ISSUES TO BECONSIDERED DURING THE INSPECTION AND RADIOGRAPHY

The questions should be answered correctly during the examination. It should be noted that the missing information, compromises one’s health and treatment.

Radiology clinic, all metal jewelry and other accesories on the head (glasses, hearing aids, buckles, earrings, necklaces, nose, piercing,etc.) and neck are removed before shooting. All removable dentures must be removed.

Appropriate safeguards according to Turkey InternationalAtomic Energy Agency and Radiation Protection Association Standards are appliedto Radiology clinic’s patients. All radiography devices are licensed from this institution and are being checked regularly.
