About Us Communication Blog Arama Sonuçları More Root Canal Treatment What is Root Canal Treatment? Root canal treatment is applied to decaying or infected teeth, and the tooth is repaired and made healthier. It is among the treatment methods that allow the tooth to be saved and may take a little longer. It is a fact that dental caries is of vital importance over time in the processes that are not treated. Therefore, in order to prevent more severe pain, it is necessary to go through the control of the dentist. In case of need, root canal treatment should be performed, the problem should be eliminated and the tooth should be repaired. In root canal treatment, first of all, the hard tissue is entered. Then, the root canal is reached and the soft tissue is intervened. The tooth nerve called pulp is expelled. In this way, the problem that occurs in the inner part of the tooth is eliminated and its cleaning is ensured. Why is Root Canal Treatment Done? Tooth decay is not a dental problem to be taken lightly. If it is not interfered, it is necessary to take precautions because it can cause serious discomfort. Tooth decay reaches the dental nerve over time and causes pain. As a result of cracking or breaking the tooth, it also causes damage to the face. As a result, the tooth may become infected or inflamed. In case of damage to the dental nerve or dental pulp, bacteria begin to spread around the tooth. This bacterium multiplies and grows over time. Problems such as bacteria and tooth decay cause abscess formation or an increase in infection. In such cases, it is seen that the pain increases day by day. Severe pain disturbs the person, and based on this situation, root canal treatment is performed to prevent the problem. In this way, the tooth is repaired and the problem is prevented and the pain is eliminated. In which situations is root canal therapy applied? A carious tooth problem usually brings about very serious damage and causes pain. Over time, these cause facial paralysis and trauma. To be more descriptive and for the cosmetic to be applicable, dental x-rays are taken. Root canal treatment is considered appropriate for decayed teeth with deep external fractures. Things to Consider After Root Canal Treatment A little more care should be taken after root canal treatment. Because the formation of infection in the tooth causes pain. Therefore, the intake of crusty or hard foods should be avoided. It is very important not to take these foods for a while and not to damage the tooth. Routine oral and dental cleaning should be done during the day. It is useful to consider the situations that will cause tooth sensitivity and act accordingly. Teeth should be brushed for two minutes twice a day. The use of dental floss is beneficial in order to prevent infection after the root canal treatment. In this way, it is easier to remove the residues entering the tooth space. Avoiding the consumption of sugary or coloring foods, sticky and acidic foods and not taking them for a while will give healthier results. The medications recommended by the specialist must be taken regularly. What are the Alternatives to Root Canal Treatment? When viewed, 90% effective results are obtained with root canal treatment. Since the decayed tooth problem is repaired in this way, the formation of infection is prevented. After the treatment, the occurrence of pain or the occurrence of traumatic events is prevented. There is no dental nerve problem for a lifetime. Correct preservation of natural teeth at all times; It is a healthier condition for the mouth. The most effective results of root canal treatment are repaired without tooth loss. In this way, it is ensured that the natural tooth is taken under control without the application of artificial teeth. What should be done after root canal treatment? It is absolutely necessary to follow the instructions given by the dentist after the root canal treatment. In this way, the successful outcome of the treatment and the problems that may occur are prevented. In the treatment method to repair the tooth, situations that will cause sensitivity after the procedure should be avoided. Consumption of excessive cold and excessive heat can damage the tooth. Depending on the size of the caries problem in the tooth, the formation of infection occurs. The size of this infection is usually painful. It should be known that the root canal treatment is not caused by pain. For this reason, attention is paid to the regular use of the drugs recommended by the dentist. Eating and drinking is suspended for a while. Especially avoiding crusty and hard foods should be helped to complete the treatment correctly. Treatment alone is not effective. The patient also plays a big role and by following the instructions, he gets effective results. How Many Sessions Does Root Canal Treatment Take? The duration of root canal treatment is a subject that varies from person to person. Because the operation is performed according to the number of roots of the tooth. Infections in root canals and nerve cleaning cause time change. The size of the tooth infection can take longer to cure and in some cases for weeks. There is a limitation of the duration of each root canal treatment to 30-90 minutes. Here, if there is an infection, it must first be cleaned and medication applied. It is necessary to wait a week for the drug to take effect. At the end of a week, the treatment is completed with the completion of the root canal treatment. It is possible to say that this can be resolved in 2-3 sessions. Does Root Canal Treatment Hurt? Pain formation during the procedure varies completely depending on the infection in the tooth. Depending on the infection in the tooth, root canal treatment is painful or painless. However, local anesthesia is applied before the procedure in order to relieve the patient and as a requirement of the medical procedure. With local anesthesia, the area to be treated is anesthetized. Since it shows the numbing effect, there is no feeling of pain. Since problems such as pity do not arise, it is done with peace of mind and does not harm the person. How Does Root Canal Treatment Pain Go? Caries in the tooth cause tooth loss over time. It brings the emergence of very serious pain in the patient before tooth loss. Since pain causes facial paralysis and trauma, it should not be perceived as just a dental problem. Because a toothache can bring unexpected results. This problem is eliminated by the examination of the dentist. Pain does not occur with local anesthesia before root canal treatment. However, as the local anesthesia begins to lose its effect, the pain manifests itself according to the size of the infection in the tooth. In order to relieve these pains, the medications recommended by the dentist should be taken regularly. Medicines can be sold without a prescription. This is an effective and correct method. This is not the case with the root canal treatment method performed here. Because the tooth nerve is removed and the tooth infection is eliminated. It is repaired because it remains in the mouth. As the tooth problem is resolved, the tooth regains its former functions. After this process, it is necessary to pay more attention to oral and dental health. In this way, since the formation of dental problems is prevented and the problems are eliminated, the tooth is used for a long time. As long as no other problems arise, it continues to do its job for the mouth. Will I Feel Pain During Root Canal Treatment? It is very rare to experience pain during root canal treatment. Because local anesthesia is applied before the procedure to perform the medical procedure. In this way, the tooth is anesthetized and the problem is resolved before pain occurs. Local anesthesia also shows its effect after the procedure. Pain may occur as it loses its effect over time. Pain can be prevented by taking the medications recommended by the dentist. I Had Root Canal Treatment But I Still Have Pain In My Tooth, Why? Root canal treatment is known as a painful treatment. This situation varies according to the formation of infection in the tooth and the damage to the tooth. In fact, under normal conditions, pain does not occur. Because here, local anesthesia is applied to the patient before the procedure. With local anesthesia, pain does not appear both during and after the procedure. The cause of the pain felt varies according to the size of the infection in the tooth. to prevent painful situations that may occur; It is recommended to use the medicines recommended by the dentist regularly. In this way, pain relief and treatment can be controlled.

Home Services Physicians Gallery Why Dentasya? About Us Communication Blog Arama Sonuçları More gum disease What is Gum Diseases? Gum Diseases is the inflammation of the soft tissue around the teeth by being damaged for various reasons. Periodontitis, which is easily treated with early diagnosis, can lead to tooth loss if left untreated. Gum diseases are easy to treat, but if neglected, it will lead to irreversible results. In addition, the protection of teeth and healthy gums will provide good digestion and keep your body healthy. Why Do Gum Diseases Occur? A soft bacterial layer, called microbial dental plaque, accumulates on all tooth surfaces and between them. If this plaque is not removed from the teeth well, harmful bacteria will multiply and cause you to deal with gum disease. The harmful substances produced by bacteria cause inflammation in the gums and recession of the gums. Over time, microbial dental plaque turns into dental calculus over time, paving the way for gum diseases. What Causes Gum Diseases? One of the main causes is gingival plaque. However, factors such as cigarettes, drugs and stress have a significant impact on dental health. Dental health affects general body health. Smoking not only harms the body but also increases the risk of gum disease. Due to the chemicals in the cigarette and the heat it gives to the gums, it causes gingivitis to go unnoticed. Medications have a negative effect on gum health. Birth control pills, antidepressants, blood pressure and heart medications, immunosuppressant drugs will cause gum recession and gum inflammation. Although stress is the cause of many diseases, it poses a risk in the formation and treatment of periodontal diseases. Vitamin deficiency can lead to gum disease. Since the immunity of the body without vitamins will decrease, it will become open to infections. Unhealthy diet negatively affects the body and weakens its immune system, making it vulnerable to infections. Gum diseases increase with unhealthy diet and become difficult to treat. What are the Symptoms of Gum Diseases? Gum bleeding, especially during tooth brushing Sensitive and swollen gums, bad breath, Recession in the gums, Gums begin to separate from around the teeth, gingivitis, Teeth begin to wobble and roots begin to appear. Gum diseases can occur as gum recession, bleeding gums, and gum inflammation. Causes such as not paying attention to oral hygiene, brushing wrong and hard teeth, incorrect fillings, dental calculus, bruxism (teeth clenching) cause periodontal diseases. If gingival diseases are still in the initial stage and have not progressed to the bone, the problem can be easily eliminated by paying attention to the cleaning of the calculus and oral care. However, if the problem progresses to the bone and progresses to the tissues under the gingiva, appropriate surgical procedures should be intervened. How Are Gum Diseases Treated? At the initial stage, oral hygiene training is given to the patient by cleaning the tooth and tooth surface, tooth root and tartar. Proper brushing and flossing is carefully demonstrated. Paying attention to oral hygiene is a form of treatment that will be sufficient for a simple gingivitis. However, different methods should be applied in more severe diseases. Surgical treatment method should be used in advanced periodontal diseases. In case of advanced infection and gingival recession, cavities called periodontal pockets are eliminated. Painless and bleeding-free treatment is possible with technological devices such as laser. After the application, the patient is kept under observation with 3, 6, 12-month controls in order to return to his daily routine and have completely healthy gums. How to Prevent Gingival Recession (Periodontitis)? Keeping the teeth as clean as possible is one of the easiest and most practical ways to minimize gingival recession. You can easily prevent your gums from receding by brushing your teeth twice a day, using flossing and cleaning your teeth regularly by dentists. What is Tooth Sensitivity and How Does It Occur? Tooth sensitivity refers to dent or root sensitivity in the teeth. If factors such as hot, cold, sweet, sour, acidic drinks or cold weather cause your teeth to become sensitive and sore, it means you have tooth sensitivity. The enamel layer on the teeth covers the dentin in the tooth and prevents the tooth from being affected by factors such as cold and heat. If the enamel layer loses its function, dentin will be exposed as a result of gingival recession and you will face tooth sensitivity. How Is Tooth Sensitivity Treated? The treatment of tooth sensitivity is through paying attention to oral hygiene. If you do your daily dental and oral care correctly and regularly, it will respond positively to the treatment of gum diseases. Dentists have some suggestions to reduce your tooth sensitivity; Avoid hard blows and applications to your teeth, Make sure to clean your teeth with a soft bristle brush, You need to brush your teeth regularly, You should floss regularly and correctly. What Can Be Done to Prevent Tooth and Gum Diseases? For oral health, you should be under the control of a dentist regularly once every 6 months. Regular check-ups will easily prevent possible gingival disorders. Plaque builds up on the teeth over time. Wrong brushing and not using dental floss cause periodontitis diseases by turning these plaques into dental calculus over time. But regular brushing and flossing alone will not be enough. It is necessary to clean the tartar regularly under the control of the dentist. Teeth should be cleaned with the right technique with a soft-bristled toothbrush, which is not too much trouble. Smoking should be stopped, attention should be paid to healthy nutrition and stress should be avoided as much as possible. What are the Complications that May Occur with Gum Retraction? One of the saddest consequences of gum recession is losing teeth. In addition, with gum recession, harmful bacteria can easily enter the circulatory system and harm the general health of your body. Is There a Connection Between Gum Disease and General Health? A discomfort in the gums will affect other organs. Bacteria in the gums are said to damage organs. All harmful organisms that occur in the gums can travel through the body through the circulation. Respiratory ailments are said to be linked to rheumatoid arthritis, coronary artery and blood sugar control problems in diabetes, and gum recession. Is Gum Disease Hereditary? It has not been proven to be genetic, but some people have a genetic predisposition to certain diseases. For this reason, people with gum diseases in family members should be more attentive to their teeth and should not interrupt their checkups by going to the dentist regularly. If you do not want any disease to occur in the gums, the most important detail that you should pay attention to is not to interrupt the cleaning of the teeth. You can prevent the problem by taking early precautions against any problem by having monthly check-ups with the dentists. If the dentists deem it appropriate, you can solve the discomfort with antibiotic treatment and the use of a special mouthwash. Brushing the teeth twice a day and using dental floss will be very useful as it will destroy the bacteria. Is Mouthwash Used for Gum Diseases? Mouthwash is one of the dental cleaning products that must be used in any gum disease. It will help to prevent plaque and tartar formation by cleaning your teeth by contributing to dental cleaning. Which Department Takes Care of Gum Diseases? You can start your treatment by applying to the periodontology department. (Periondontology; the branch of science dealing with the treatment of diseases that occur in the gums.) What are the Suggestions for the Prevention of Gum Diseases? It is necessary to brush the teeth regularly and use the bottom floss. A soft-bristled brush is recommended. Vitamin C deficiency is said to be effective on gum diseases. Keeping your vitamin C level at a certain level under the supervision of a doctor will be beneficial for your teeth. Not smoking has become something recommended by almost all dentists. Smoking will trigger gum diseases and turn the treatment into a difficult process. We recommend that you adopt a regular and healthy diet. Consuming too much fast food and adopting a greasy, unhealthy diet will trigger gum disease. Are There Herbal Treatment Methods For Gum Diseases? It is known that plants are very useful for gum diseases. One of them is the daisy. It is known that chamomile protects against gum diseases due to its antiseptic nature and does not cause any side effects. You can keep the chamomile in boiling water for 10 minutes and then use it as a mouthwash. It is recommended to discontinue use in case of any allergic reaction. Thyme cure is one of the most useful herbs when used regularly. It is recommended to use 2-3 times a day while brushing your teeth. It has been determined that licorice root also prevents plaque formation and is good for gingivitis. Licorice root, a natural sweetener, can be used as a sugar substitute in teas. It is recommended to consume 3 cups a day. Overuse can cause headaches, increased blood pressure, and fatigue. Echinacea is an herb known for boosting the immune system. Echinacea, which is recommended to be used in the form of mouthwash, will strengthen your immunity and protect you against any gum disease. Many people know that green tea has many benefits. We cannot pass without saying that it is also good for gum disease. You can use warm green tea regularly by gargling. Nettle, which turns into a very useful plant for teeth with its antibacterial properties, also prevents the formation of dental plaque and acts as a natural mouthwash. Peppermint is a very powerful herb in fighting bacteria. Drinking mint tea will prevent gingivitis and leave a fresh taste in your mouth. Sage, containing antiseptic components, stops bleeding and removes bacteria. It is common for cloves to be used in gum care. Clove provides daily care for your teeth by destroying bacteria with its antiseptic properties. What Can Happen If Gum Disease Is Not Treated? If the teeth are ignored and gum diseases are not treated, the disease progresses to the bone and can lead to irreversible results. Inflammation of the tissues progresses to the alveolar bone that supports the teeth and can cause you to lose your teeth. Can Alcohol Cause Gum Diseases? Since alcohol causes changes in the amount and structure of saliva, it can make your teeth vulnerable to bad breath and infections. In addition to its effects such as irritation and redness, it can increase an existing infection and complicate the treatment process. How Long Does Gum Disease Treatment Take? Today, since the treatment is applied with laser practical technology tools, the healing process is faster without bleeding and pain. Although the duration of treatment varies according to the problem you are experiencing and the course of your disease, you can extend or shorten the treatment by applying to your dentist whenever you feel any discomfort. Do Children Have Gum Diseases? It is said that the risk of gum disease in children increases as they get older. However, there are some situations where children are at risk. You are faced with conditions such as not paying attention to oral care, insufficient and malnutrition, pediatric diseases, vitamin deficiency. Is Toothpaste Choice Important for Gum Diseases? Your toothbrush and brushing technique are more important than the toothpaste to be used. If you are not in a special situation, it would be a good choice to choose the suitable toothpaste for you or to get advice from your dentist. However, it is seen that many patients with gingival problems experience some difficulties in the teeth brushing technique. For this reason, if you apply for examinations, you will first be shown the correct brushing and flossing techniques, and then treatment will be started. Does Gum Disease Cause Bad Breath? If you have a problem such as gingivitis, infection and bacteria can cause bad breath. Diseases such as bruises, pharyngitis, sinusitis, reflux can cause bad breath. You can find a solution to this problem in a short time by contacting your dentist.
